MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF DEPARTMENT
Welcome to Mathematics and Statistics Department, which is one of the three Departments in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences. The mission of our department is to produce competent graduates in mathematics, statistics and actuarial science for careers in research institutions, financial institutions, and academia among others. To achieve this, the department offers the following market driven programmes to prepare students for the job market.
- Master of Science In Applied Statistics
- Master of Science In Mathematical Modeling And Computation
- Bachelor of Science (Mathematics)
- Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Programming
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science
- Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science
The Department also services several programmes in the School of Engineering and Technology, School of Agriculture, Environment and Health Sciences, School of Education, School of Business, Economics, Hospitality and Tourism Management and School of Humanities and Social Sciences
The teaching staff have vast experience in teaching and research with collaborations and networks globally. In addition, the University has ensured that there are adequate facilities in terms of lecture halls and well equipped computer laboratories for effective teaching and research.
